Abstract

LONDERO, Mário Francis Petry  and  SOARES, Letícia Quarti. Analysis of Implications: A Problematizing Power to the Researchers Supposedly “Known”. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2018, vol.8, n.1, pp. 144-163. ISSN 2238-152X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.22456/2238-152X.80424.

This article is based on an evaluative, participatory intervention-research which studied Mental Health Care processes within Primary Care in the public health network of the greater metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, Brazil. We present a summary of this research and analyse the encounters which occurred specifically in the city proper of Porto Alegre, one of the six urban communities participating in the research. Using a cartographic methodology, the research proposition aimed to analyse the implications of siting researchers throughout the major research region; to examine the dialogic processes between researchers, users, workers, family members and healthcare managers; and study what transpired within the networked problematique and its possible inventions in order to provide an account of mental health care within primary care. We were able to see throughout the process how direct contact with the participatory field produces an understanding that problematises and transforms researchers’ preconceived knowledge.
