Abstract

HILLESHEIM, Betina  and  LASTA, Letícia Lorenzoni. The Social Assistance Policy and the Educationalization of the Social. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2018, vol.8, n.3, pp. 28-51. ISSN 2238-152X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.22456/2238-152X.85814.

This paper aims to discuss the articulation between public policies for social assistance and education. In order to do that, we have considered the assumption that, in our time, there is an association between the phenomenon called educationalization of the social, which has caused education to be recurrently mentioned as either the cause of or solution for a series of social problems, and a neoliberal governmental rationality that operates in a competitive logic. Regarding such issues, we have performed an analysis of SUAS Handbook: How to use (2017), by understanding it as an educative strategy that, by giving more autonomy to the users, ends up governing and leading more vulnerable layers of the Brazilian population to enter in production and consumption networks by means of an investment in human capital.

Keywords : public policies; social assistance; productive inclusion.
