Abstract

SANTOS, Antonia Vieira. Listening group with families in a psychosocial attention center: a report of expertise. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.1, pp. 198-209. ISSN 2238-152X.

The transformations in Mental Health care in Brazil have required a new attitude of the relatives of users of the substitutive services. These family members are called to participate effectively in the strategies of care and social inclusion. However, the spaces of dialogues in these services between family and professionals are still very small. Thus, this work aims to build an experience report about a listening group with family members of users in a Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS). The relatives of this listening group gave meaning and trajectory to the encounters, reporting their singularities in the coexistence with the mental disorder, supported in the listening, the look and the transferential interweaving that supported the ethics of the sayings. Listening points to the need to offer similar spaces to this group in mental health services, spaces where family members can feel welcomed. We conclude by stating that it is still a challenge for the CAPS to build and maintain spaces for interaction with family members, in order to listen to their anguish and be a facilitator in everyday relationships with madness.
