Abstract

Most of the world's population already lives in cities. In Brazil, 83% of its inhabitants are distributed by its 5,564 cities. The city is one of those artifacts created by man that has remained throughout history and became its habitat today. The man produces and produces his world in urban. Recognizing the importance of the city to the modern man, the present study sought to investigate the processes of rationalization / objectification triggered a small town. Therefore, it is taken as an object of study the urban center of the smallest municipality of São Paulo in number of inhabitants. Observations were made of the city's daily life through participation in events, parties, public events and meetings. As main conclusion it was found that health and education are the main routes of entry into the rationalization of processes in urban life, subjectivity production of disempowering.
