This article is about a research experience with Autonomous Medication Management (GAM) in northeast Brazil, on the city of Maceió/Alagoas. The consequence of arrival GAM in this field was the construction of a discipline about the GAM as a formative strategy and sensitizing the public health network. We use GAM principles to direct classroom experience offered to ungraduated health courses in a public university with a practice in two Psychosocial Care Centers. From this experience, we analyze the effects of using the GAM strategy as a training strategy in the university also in the mental health network.
