Abstract

MANTOVANI, Giovanna Liz Oliveira; SILVA, Vanilson Oliveira da  and  BERNARDES, Anita Guazzelli. Bodies and existences: lives not subject to mourning. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2021, vol.11, n.spe, pp. 92-111. ISSN 2238-152X.

This paper aims to reflect on the relation between social policies and body performances in terms of government of lives. We are interested in problematizing that articulation - social policies and bodies - regarding the emergence of the current health crisis caused by Covid-19 pandemic. The focus of this problematization are the social effects on the relations of government of bodies within a rationality of coloniality and racism, i.e. we intend to think about some lines of government of lives that have been strengthened as abandonment forms, thus becoming non-subject to mourning. In order to do that, we have considered two current body performances - women facing violence situations and homeless drug users, as both evidence different mechanisms of body regulation and forms of life abandonment.

Keywords : Body; Pandemic; Abandonment; Social Policies; Government; Cuerpo; Pandemia; Abandono; Políticas Sociales; Gobierno.
