Abstract

NOGUEIRA, José Francisco Sarmento  and  PALMIERE, Júlia Arruda da Fonseca. Multi/intercultural relations in pandemic times: identity reflections with indigenous academics in the university environment. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2021, vol.11, n.spe, pp. 204-226. ISSN 2238-152X.

This article aims to reflect on Multi/intercultural relations in the university environment in pandemic times, with the look to the indigenous academics. In this sense, this work shows the insertion of indigenous people in Basic Education and Higher Education to understand the production of identity in the educational spaces of frontier in the relationship with otherness, difference and hospitality, as well as to discuss the inclusion of indigenous people in the face of difficulties presented with the advent of the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic in Brazil. We have as theoretical support the Cultural Studies. As a methodological strategy, we use literature review and the follow of strategies of the Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas das PopulaçõesIndígenas (NEPPI) of the UniversidadeCatólica Dom Bosco during the pandemic period to serve the indigenous students in the remote calendar. Reflecting on otherness, hospitality and difference in the context of the pandemic become urgent to think about the games of inclusion/exclusion of indigenous peoples in Education.
