Abstract

TEDESCO, Pedro de Castro; MAHEIRIE, Kátia  and  OLIVEIRA, João Manuel de. A literature review on agential realism in psychology. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2021, vol.11, n.2, pp. 89-108. ISSN 2238-152X.

This article is a literature reviewof the academic production on Agential Realism and Psychology. In order to achieve this we make an inventory of the scientific articles in the field of Psychology by a consultation on the databases of the Portal de Periódicos and the CAPES Thesis and Dissertations Catalog with descriptors focused on Agential Realism. The results show that the concept of intra-action is used in these works as a way of signaling the mutual constitution between matter and discourse. In all of these works the Agential Realism is used to propose analytical alternatives that focus on an understanding of the matter as generative and agenciative, based on the materialization processes involved in the constitution of its objects of study. It is suggested that future works in Psychology, which have Agential Realism as their main theoretical contribution, focus on the ethical dimensions of the materialization processes.

Keywords : neo-materialism; agential realism; psychology; karen barad.
