NEVES, Tiago Iwasawa  e  PIMENTEL, Ana Margareth Steinmuller. Psychoanalysis and Science: problematization of Bioethics. Analytica [online]. 2013, vol.2, n.3, pp. 56-83. ISSN 2316-5197.

The overall goal of the article is to promote, otherwise initiate, a discussion on obstacles and conceptual impasses that may put into question the legitimacy of Bioethics already established in our days. Within its statement, Bioethics is defined as knowledge that aims to determinate the risks and possible damage that science can cause in our understanding of life and ethical dignity, measuring and restricting therefore the steps that will be given by research biomedical and biotech. This statement enables the construction of the specific objective of the article that is to problematize the concepts that underpin this definition, namely: ethics, human nature and science. The work is divided into two parts. In the first section we will demonstrate that the notions of ethics and human nature, present in the discourse of contemporary bioethicists, are false and inconsistent, respectively. Ethics is falsified in that discourse when is reduced to a generalization problem of moral and legal values. Yet the notion of human nature is inconsistent once conceptually define as a need that has always been present in the world, and not as a concept historically determined, that by definition, would always be tied to the contingencies that can make any human world possible. In the second section, we will present the meaning of the following thesis: the relationship that psychoanalysis maintains with science is logical compatibility. As of the consequences extracted from this thesis, the next step will be to question the legitimacy of an ethical intervention in scientific domain.
