Abstract

The article traces the path of almost one century of the presence of psychoanalysis in São Paulo. It analyses the main circulation paths of the doctrine, as well as, the process of institutionalization of the Brazilian Psychoanalytic Society of São Paulo (SociedadeBrasileira de Psicanálise de São Paulo), SBPSB that from the 70s, made possible the expansion of the doctrine and the emergence of other schools of thought, notably the Lacanism.
