One of the central reference of the colloquium organized by NUPEP and CEII, "Psychoanalysis and the communist hypothesis," is, undoubtedly, aside from Alain Badiou, Slavoj Zizek. We seek, in this article, to present briefly some of the characteristics of Zizek`s intellectual journey, contextualizing its trajectory within the receptions of Freud's work in the twentieth century. Later, we will try to present some of its key concepts.
