Abstract

VORCARO, Angela Maria Resende  and  ASSENCO, Raíssa Gomes. Escrevendo o indizível. Analytica [online]. 2018, vol.7, n.12, pp. 100-109. ISSN 2316-5197.

The present article, "Writing the unspeakable", emerges from a fundamental posed question: if and how it would be possible to have a dialogue between art and psychoanalysis? In this way, the authors were grounded in references such as Freud, with his idea of "the strange" (Das Unheimliche), Deleuze, with his philosophy of difference, as well in some reflections presented by Mereleau-Ponty, Marilena Chaui, Ovídeo de Abreu and Jacques Lacan. Therefore, the complainants discuss a possible interface between the two areas, inserting Bacon's art in the domain of the so called hiatus, the "unknown", the "ever-changing", or even of the "proceeding with the Real". As an Anglo-irish painter, he produced a figurative art, between the 40s and the 80s, making paintings with the expression of horror, distortion and shattering. This article is a rereading of his work trough the philosophy of difference and the Lacanian psychoanalythical discourse in its concepts of "lackness" and "repetition". Consequently, the unique expression that marks Francis Bacon's paintings was able to be the stage [or the arena] of an analysis wich perspectives are referred to the reinvention of life, place of possibilities, expression that bursts through the cracks of the ever ordinary in order to come to light.

Keywords : Francis Bacon; Art and psychoanalysis; Psilosophy of difference; Ever-changing; Hiatus.
