This article discusses the importance of fantasy and psychic reality, as a device for the wonderful, resolving conflicts, constitutive of identity, creator of psychic spaces as real and powerful as the actual reality of life. Furthermore, the seriousness of this fairy tale, as they offer children a means of achieving this element wonderful and elaborate their conflicts. There is a consensus among analysts that fantasy is not only a place in the psyche where wishes come true, but she is also the internal fuel of every human being, necessary for the elaboration of experiences and conflicts, having its origin in sexuality child. The study aimed to review literature including theses and dissertations about the importance of imagination and the help of fairy tales for the psychic development, pointing out their features and diversities.
