Abstract

CONDE, Ana Flávia Cicero  and  COSTA, Paulo José da. Discussion about the Inexorability of the Repetition Compulsion. Analytica [online]. 2020, vol.9, n.16, pp. 1-14. ISSN 2316-5197.

This article aims to discuss possible explanations for the inexorability of the repetition compulsion through the analysis of four factors: ego fragility, fixation in repression, excessive level of stimulus that causes psychic trauma, and the relation with the instincts. It was concluded that both factors may influence the inexorability of such compulsion. In addition, was made a reflection about the psychoanalytic clinic be understood as a way to deal with this psychic mechanism and with what derives from it.
