Resumen

VIEIRA, Fabiano de Mello. The Subject and Neoliberalism: a Question of Economy. Analytica [online]. 2020, vol.9, n.17, pp. 1-22. ISSN 2316-5197.

This article presents some bases that compose the neoliberalism - while post-modem aspect of liberalism - as a political system that builds an alienation model from a convincing strategy that finds fixing on the own psychic composition of the individual. Or, we may say the individual encounters on neoliberal promise the appeasement of his constitutional unrest, finding a solution for the problem raised by Freud in the text Civilization and its discontent. We will begin from the influence received and the subversion made by the liberalism of Adam Smith related to the thoughts of Bernard de Mandeville to get to Freudian notion of the psychic apparatus and the correlation established between psychic and mercantile economy. Lastly, we are going to lead on the initial proposal of showing that the neoliberalism is in accordance with the idea of a post-modem individual that, in the possibility, built imaginarily about an absolute scape from the structural unrest, finds on consumption relations and the other neoliberal promises a fundamental support.
