The following text emerged from the experience of the Casa dos Cata-Ventos. This is a research and extension project, that offers, since 2011, an intervention proposal for childhood and adolescence, supported by psychoanalytical ethics. A space to play in, to talk and to tell stories in the municipality of Porto Alegre/RS, situated in a context of social and racial inequalities. The research addresses the clinical and political unfolding of the offering of books and letters, triggered by the storytelling workshop "Contação de Histórias"; the lending of books and the construction of a literate environment, named as livração by the children.
