Abstract

Based on the question about jouissance, this article intends to elaborate a study path to understand the referred concept in Lacanian teaching, more precisely in two moments of its construction, namely: the academic year of 1966-1967 and the academic year of 1972-1973. With this proposal in mind, the objective of this work is to apprehend the concept of jouissance in its intimate relationship with the notions of substance and incorporeal body. In addition, briefly go through an attempt to understand the jouissance of the Other and the phallic jouissance. In the end, it can be said that the concept of jouissance cannot be reduced to the Freudian drive, it has characteristics such as Aristotelian ousia, can be read from the struggle of the Hegelian master and slave, can be linked to the idea of God's jouissance and its substance is distinguished from Cartesian substances - thinking thing, extensive thing and divine thing.
