Abstract

JOSE, Juliane Nunes  and  SANTOS, Kátia Alexsandra dos. Violence against Women: Feminine Issues in/for Psychoanalysis. Analytica [online]. 2021, vol.10, n.19, pp. 1-28. ISSN 2316-5197.

This work seeks to establish a dialogue between the areas of Psychoanalysis and Gender Studies, regarding Violence against Women. Its aim was to identify how psychoanalysis has been approaching the theme, from the discussion of contemporary authors and through interviews with psychoanalysts in the city of Irati-PR about their clinical care for women in situations of violence. We debated how the psychoanalytic studies on the subject, for the most part, move towards a pathologization of the phenomenon, locating it in the subject. Based on the interviews with psychoanalysts, we discussed how the cases arrive at the clinic, the work with the speech, so that situations of violence are named, the coping processes that occur by women, and the relationship of psychoanalytic theory and technique as for the care for women in situations of violence. Lastly, we advocate for a psychoanalytical reading and intervention committed to the social, as only in this way is possible, on one hand, to produce a change of subjective position and not act in a way that is consistent with a discourse of maintenance of the patriarchal system.

Keywords : Violence against women; Psychoanalysis; Domestic violence.
