Abstract

SILVA, João Mateus Pereira da; SOUZA, Thaysa Mendes de; PINTO, Paula Julianna Chaves  and  RIBEIRO, Joicy Mayra Freitas. Anguish and Somatization in Times of Pandemic. Analytica [online]. 2022, vol.11, n.20, pp. 1-16. ISSN 2316-5197.

The present study aims to reflect on the presentification of death arising from the current pandemic situation of COVID-19. We started from the idea of the constant attempt to forget our finitude and related it to the modern health practices. To achieve the objective, we used a qualitative research, of a narrative nature, which provided a conceptual overview of the global situation of the pandemic. As a result, we point to an increase in psychological suffering related to psychosomatic symptoms, in an attempt of symbolic expression through the psychic overflow that leads to illnesses and the increase of stress, anguish and somatization.

Keywords : Anguish; Death; Pandemic; Somatization.
