Abstract

SILVA, Nara Pillar Maia Couto e  and  BARROS, Rogério de Andrade. Anorexia in Hysterics: The Desire in Question. Analytica [online]. 2022, vol.11, n.20, pp. 1-17. ISSN 2316-5197.

This paper aims to understand the specificity of the symptomatic construction of mental anorexia in hysterics, starting from the constitution of desire in the conception of psychoanalysis of Lacanian orientation. For this, the concept of desire and its relationship with the Other was brought, identifying in the anorexic symptom the refusal as its most apparent manifestation. Then, we point out the nuances present in mental anorexia that are difficult to undergo an analysis process, configuring themselves as a thick symptom, used to the imaginary of the body, distanced from the language circuit and the symbolic order. We conclude that Lacanian oriented psychoanalysis brings the specificity of anorexia located in a more complex field than the imaginary illusion, thus being given clinical indications from the possible insertion of the subjective division in the analysis process.

Keywords : Mental anorexia; Hysterical; Desire; Subjective division.
