Abstract

MARTINS, Aline Souza. The power and the body behind the text: methodology in political psychoanalysis. Clín. & Cult. [online]. 2019, vol.8, n.1, pp. 51-63. ISSN 2317-2509.

The article points out the power as an important question for the theoretical and methodological construction within psychoanalysis. Starting from the Freudian theory, contemporary authors are called to highlight the relationship between psychoanalysis and politics and it claims a hybrid methodology for analysis in this field. The Psychoanalysis is understood as a discourse in which issues of race, gender, class and colonialism intervene, then it is necessary to be vigilant to its political position. The bodies behind the theoretical construction as a localized issue is defended as a way to combat the perpetuation of current domination in the academic sphere, which is covered by the ideal of universality and neutrality. Thus, we propose that this criticism be incorporated by psychoanalysis in a location of the analyst's experience as a body that speaks of a position in social discourse, both in theory construction and in clinical listening.

Keywords : Psychoanalysis; politics; method; hybrid.
