This article draws from elements of feminist theories to develop some reflections on psychoanalytic practice. There are important feminist and psychoanalytic debates that promote a critical look at the position of women and LGBTQIA+ populations. Two aspects of these debates are highlighted here, first, how phallocentrism would operate in psychoanalysis, and second, the importance of psychoanalysis for feminist analysis and practice. Among the critiques of psychoanalysis, a path is traversed on the propositions of the so-called men and women, initially following the having or not having the phallus, its unfoldings and clinical problems, until reaching the final catches of Lacanian psychoanalysis in this regard, namely, the formulas of sexuation. Part of this work was presented at the First Meeting of the Psychoanalysis and Politics Network in 2018, focusing on the critical feminist and anti-racist analysis of psychoanalysis to interrogate the construction of the "Other", considering the intersectional relations of gender, race, sexuality and class and their impasses. A critical analysis of the Woman as Other in psychoanalytic discourse is developed aiming to promote perspectives of openness to listening and recognizing the "other".
