Abstract

VOLTOLINI, Rinaldo. Public children, private adults: Talk about childhood. Clín. & Cult. [online]. 2019, vol.8, n.2, pp. 108-121. ISSN 2317-2509.

This text has as its main objective to critically analyze the current discourse on childhood and does so intersecting two dimensions of the referred discourse: the historical-socialandthe structural one. Considering that the conception of childhood, and therefore the concrete experience we have with children, is as much conditioned by historical-social determinants - History - as by the repression that every adult has of his or her own childhood - Psychoanalysis - we dedicate ourselves to peer into an emblematic figure of the present discourse on childhood:. childhood included. In the course of the text we seek to develop the hypothesis that the modern inclusion of childhood in the scenario of political considerations, that is to say, the political admission of its public character, generated, among other things, the paradoxical effect of enclosing children in a universe in which their own word risks being eclipsed by the word of the childhood specialist.

Keywords : childhood; adult; inclusion; Psychoanalysis; History.
