Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Victor Hugo Nedel; SANTOS, Andreia Mendes Dos  and  LACERDA, Miriam Pires Corrêa De. The feature of "letter methodology" as a form of capture of urban flows of contemporary young people. Desidades [online]. 2020, n.27, pp. 77-92. ISSN 2318-9282.

This article seeks to present a technique for collecting data on the urban flow of contemporary young people from what has been called letter methodology. The technique proposes the analysis of the content of letters written by young people to a hypothetical visitor in their city, who would have twenty-four hours of living together to present their places of interest and their itineraries with the guest. To discuss the methodological application, a case study was carried out with 24 young students from the College of Application of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, with the city of Porto Alegre as a spatial section. The results show that public and leisure places predominate for young people participating in the research, as well as a view of the city being dangerous and insecure. It was noticed, in several letters, that the written itinerary passed through places that these young schoolchildren circulate in their routine.

Keywords : youth; city; letter methodology; education.
