Abstract

MARCO, Celeste De. A, B, C... of countryside. Non-formal education and recreation for rural children (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1969-1980). Desidades [online]. 2020, n.28, pp. 95-110. ISSN 2318-9282.

ABSTRACT This article is proposed to share an educational experience developed in the south of Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), in the rural contours of a district in the vicinity of the federal and provincial capital (La Plata). The Club de colaboradores del INTA para el trabajo con la juventud rural worked in Florencio Varela between the late 1960s and early 1980s, attracting numerous students from local rural schools. It was an original initiative designed especially for rural children and its study allows us to know the particularities of non-formal education in these types of contexts, its potentialities and challenges. But also through its study it is posible to inquire about its value in terms of sociability and recreation for children whose lives were spent in the urban-rural edges in a stage of transformation.
