ABSTRACT This work is an approach to the reconfigurations of the care of girls and boys who live with family groups in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, Argentina, during the COVID-19 pandemic and the mandatory preventive social isolation measures. Its objective is to analyze the transformations of children's social ties based on the transformations of family and school spaces, from the perspective of adult caregivers in the family environment. The research used a virtual interview from a structured questionnaire with open-ended and closed-ended questions, with an intentional sample through the snowball method. The results found are related to the reconfigurations of time and space, the restructuring in the dynamics of coexistence, the use of technologies, the emerging vicissitudes in the superposition of work, care, education and social relations, and the expressions of child discomfort.

Keywords : child care; social tie; mental health; Covid-19; social isolation.
