SANTOS, Renata Ferreira dos y VERLY JUNIOR, Eliseu. Bullying and association of risk behaviors among adolescents in the Northern Region: a study based on the National School Health Survey, 2015. Desidades [online]. 2021, n.29, pp. 217-231. ISSN 2318-9282.
This study aimed to identify the prevalence of bullying and the association of risk behaviors among adolescents in the Northern Region based on the results of the National School Health Survey conducted in 2015. This is a cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach with 23,777 adolescents enrolled in public and private schools in the North region. Multinomial regression and stereotype model analysis were used to verify the association of variables, the level of significance adopted was 5%. It was observed that the prevalence of adolescents victimized by verbal bullying was 4.3%; perpetrators was 15.9% and those who were victims and perpetrators of bullying 2.0%. Adolescents who were bullied were three times more likely to adopt three (OR=3.22; CI95% 1.35-7.69) and four times more likely to adopt four (OR=4.04; CI95% 1.69-9.66) simultaneous risk behaviors. It was concluded that adolescents from the northern region who perpetrated bullying assumed more health risk behaviors.
