LAGUENS, Ana  and  QUEREJETA, Maira. Evaluation of psychomotor development: latin american screening tests. Desidades [online]. 2021, n.29, pp. 232-247. ISSN 2318-9282.

At present, various instruments are available that allow the early detection of alterations and delays in Psychomotor Development. This article has two objectives: the first is the review of assessment instruments for Child Psychological Development, with special emphasis on the research tools used in Latin America. The second aims to compare 3 instruments (PRUNAPE, EDIN and Abridged Development Scale) administered in a sample of 28 5-year-old children residing in 3 municipalities in the province of Buenos Aires (La Plata, Berisso and Ensenada), Argentina. After the administration of the tests, the results obtained in each one were analyzed and compared with each other. It is concluded that the 3 instruments yield similar results, both in general performance and for their homologous items according to evaluation areas.

Keywords : research instruments; evaluation of psychomotor development; child psychological development; Latin America.
