Abstract

This study aimed to report the experience of using art workshops as occupational therapeutic resource along with users of Therapeutic Residential Service in São Paulo. Occupational Therapy and Art were the main features of the interventions, due to the potential of objectifying and promoting to the subject the daily distancing and thus provoke reflections on that. 20 artistic workshops were carried out, which took place weekly in the period of 6 months, enabling participants discover some potentialities hitherto unknown, facilitating the development of coping strategies front to the institutionalization consequences, boosting the subjects participants to place themselves as protagonists of their own stories. Art and Occupational Therapy reassert themselves as reproduction, experimentation and reinvention space of lifestyles.
