Abstract

This essay seeks to strengthen the praxis of the socio-educational system by promoting reflections on topics such as human development in adolescence, juvenile offenses and the socio-educational character of the processes of accountability in the light of cultural development psychology. The text is divided into three parts. In the first part, an outline of the contemporary tendencies of psychology and the way in which they have problematized the conception of human development of the called modern psychology is presented. The second one emphasizes the contributions that the perspectives culturalists in psychology have offered to the theoretical discussion and social practices with adolescence, outlining the bases for a sociocultural understanding of the juvenile infraction phenomenon. Finally, the concept of socio-educational culture is discussed in order to problematize some ideas rooted in the daily work in the area and contribute to explain some of the difficulties faced in this daily life. Without wishing to be conclusive, the text makes final considerations that point to other contributions of cultural development psychology to the qualification of juvenile justice, especially the importance of observing the cultural aspects in the researches and the acting with the adolescents in fulfillment of socio-educational measure.
