Abstract

WEINMANN, Amadeu de Oliveira. About the psychoanalytic filmic analysis. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2017, vol.17, n.1, pp. 1-11. ISSN 2359-0769.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v17i1.5187.

From some Freudian reflections on art, the article asks about the conditions of possibility of a psychoanalytic research of the cinema. Is it possible to think of the cinematographic image as a language? In order to address this problem, this paper focuses on the theoretical-methodological foundations of the cinematic language concept, as thought by Christian Metz's semiotics of cinema, and by film analysis by Raymond Bellour. It is within the framework of these elaborations that, in the early 1970s, intense research on the possible articulations between psychoanalysis and cinema appears. In it, one poses the problem of the subjective effects of this singular language. By adopting the Lacanian premise that language offers the infans the possibility of resisting the capture by the image, through the enunciation of itself, the article advances some methodological propositions about a singular orientation of research that denominates psychoanalytic filmic analysis.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; movie theater; language; image; subject.
