Abstract

BRANCO, Paulo Coelho Castelo  and  CIRINO, Sérgio Dias. Circulation of brazilian articles about Carl Rogers: rise, rebirth or decline?. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2017, vol.17, n.2, pp. 1-11. ISSN 2359-0769.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v17i2.5789.

The objective is to analyze the productions about the person centered approach (PCA) from its circulation in Brazilian journals from 2002 to 2014. A systematic review was performed on the electronic databases of SciELO and PePSIC, using several descriptors referring to the approach. 58 items found. The results show: constancy of productions in the period from 2005 to 2014; concentration of publications in two humanistic journals, predominance of authors and universities from Ceará; mainly in the Northeast region hegemony of theoretical productions in overlapping empirical studies; emphasis on clinical and historical discussions; and the appropriation of the philosophical and empirical Phenomenology to develop the ACP. The continuity of the ACP's rise / rebirth movement in Brazil is questioned. In conclusion, this study offers an understanding of certain aspects of the Brazilian PCA and points out other possibilities of research on its circulation.

Keywords : Carl Rogers; humanistic psychology; literature review; customer-centric therapy.
