Abstract

BARTIJOTTO, Juliana; TFOUNI, Leda Verdiani  and  CHIARETTI, Paula. Wo es war, soll ich werden: translations and theoretical consequences. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2019, vol.19, n.3, pp. 1-11. ISSN 2359-0769.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v19i3.e8267.

The present article seeks to understand the unfolding that a discursive analysis of the Freudian utterance Wo Es war, soll Ich werden, and their different translations produce in the theoretical field of Psychoanalysis. Therefore, we take the utterance as a maxim that has linguistic characteristics (semantic and syntactic) that are not indifferent to the production of meaning. We seek to demonstrate how different interpretations, with distinct theoretical consequences, are produced in Freud's work, especially concerning the constitution of the subject from language, when this utterance is translated into Portuguese and French.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; translation; subject.
