ARAUJO, Marley Rosana Melo de; SANTOS, Daiane Nunes dos; SANTOS, Letícia Santana  and  LEAL, Rose Milena dos Anjos. The Economic Crisis Perception and Coping by Workers. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.1, pp.1-16. ISSN 2359-0769.  https://doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v20i1.e8520.

In times of crisis, individuals go through stressful situations and great insecurity. This work aimed to investigate how workers in a northeastern capital perceive and deal with the current economic crisis. It intended to identify the perceptions about the current crisis and coping strategies used to deal with this phenomenon. This is an exploratory research, with a qualitative focus of analysis, in which semi-structured, reflective, and individual interviews were used as a technique. As a result it found that: a) the economic crisis is a stressful situation that produced consequences in different areas of the interviewees' lives, and b) the strategies used focused on the problem or on emotion, with adaptive strategies prevailing.

Keywords : economic crisis; coping; workers.
