Abstract

ROSA, Camila Terra da  and  WEINMANN, Amadeu de Oliveira. Female Sexuality in Writings of Pioneers of Psychoanalysis. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.3, pp. 1-13. ISSN 2359-0769.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v20i3.e9499.

The present article aims to recover the writings of the pioneers of psychoanalysis on female sexuality. The importance of returning to these authors is in the possibility of elaborating a theory of female sexuality by women, in a field traditionally occupied by male authors. Were women able to leave the place of patients to become authors? Was it possible for women to play a leading role in psychoanalysis? The psychoanalysts women chosen to think about these issues were responsible for important twists in Freudian theory on female sexuality and are recognized in the history of psychoanalysis for their theoretical and clinical contributions. They are Karen Horney, Jeanne Lampl-de Groot, Ruth Mack Brunswick, Melanie Klein, Joan Riviere, and Helene Deutsch. In this work, we intend to bring up, once again, their contributions, to seek a female heritage in psychoanalysis.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; story; female sexuality.
