Abstract

BATTISTELLI, Bruna Moraes  and  CRUZ, Lílian Rodrigues da. Cartagrafias (Letters): Academic Writing between Care, Research and Reception. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.2, pp. 1-13. ISSN 2359-0769.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v21i2.e11048.

How to narrate the construction of a methodological process? Guided by this question, this article aims to discuss the possibilities of constructing a dissertation in the form of an object from the concepts of collection by Walter Benjamin (1987a; 1987b) and fragment by Gilles Deleuze (2011; 2013), articulated through the use of letters in a methodology called by the first author as cartagraphy. The concept of the collection, derived from the work of Walter Benjamin, underlies the search for other possibilities of assembly for the dissertation in counterpoint to the established models. This paper reports the research experience during the first author's master's degree, guided by the second author, based on research carried out in the institutional care for children and adolescents' field, considering the production of care in the Social Assistance policy. The creation of a box as the final object focused on opening the dissertation for multiple experiments. On the other hand, the fragmented concept helps to think about the writing and constitution of the research process as a care production tool. Letter writing as part of the methodological process and writing policy was based on the need to expand the possible dialogues in the academic text and increase its polyphonic capacity. The meeting between Walter Benjamin and Gilles Deleuze originated in the writing and making of the final object (dissertation) and intended to discuss the possibility of letters and dissertation-box-collection-of-letters as a research policy and as a tool for Academic production.
