The impact that resilience has on the future of adolescents with disabilities is recognized in the literature. More specifically, the meaning of this concept has been discussed in the context of the transition from adolescence to adulthood, since transition periods can represent an exposure to vulnerability and potential risks requiring a structural and functional reorganization. Some transitions, such as the entry and exit of adolescence, are especially significant and challenging. Thus, this study aims to discuss, from theoretical contributions and empirical studies, how resilience support coping adverse situations that occur in the lives of adolescentes during this transition. Therefore, we highlight findings from the literature, which bring reports of interventions focused on the recognition of strenghts, development of autonomy and promotion of skilled behaviours to cope with difficult situations that may be present in the transition stage from adolescence to adulthood. These are intervention proposals that favor resilience processes and point to the fact that actions of this nature should address the life contexts of adolescents and people directly related to them in order to ensure a reduction in risks and activation of support resources. However, research is recommended to investigate systematically the feasibility and efficacy of interventional models so that they can be safely replicated and thus reach a more expressive number of adolescents with disabilities, in their diversity, being adequately supported in their transition.
