RBCDH publishes, in vol. 19 nr.2, another 12 articles, as a result of the work of researchers from the States of São Paulo, Espírito Santo e Santa Catarina. We intend to hold, in2010, the 2^nd International Congress on Child and Adolescent Health. Thus, it is necessary to improve the process of making and remaking science in the area, establishing interfaces with society, the family, the school, the government and research centres of our Universities and Colleges.

In this issue, the Journal contains heavy but necessary subjects throughout the life cicles, from babies to adolescents, young adults and vitimised women, such as the psychosocial health, babies breathing problems, obesity in preschool children, cesarian section on a woman whose pregnancy was a consequence f rape, pregnancy in adolescence, questions of gender, maternal health and the perinatal paradox, therapeutic groups for young adults with social phobia, among other themes which include the social question in contemporary France. The Journal might, in the future, enhance the exchange of knowledge, issuing more frequently contributions from foreign authors.

The diversity of subjects leads the readers to profound their studies and share experiences and innovative solutions for the old problems in the challenging reality of maternal and child health in Brazil. Have a nice time reading RBCDH.
