The third issue of Phenomenological Studies - Revista da Abordagem Gestáltica comes in a context of transition and reassessment. We have completed thirteen years of uninterrupted publication, in a growth movement that demands new perspectives and new revaluations for the following years.

In this issue, besides the flow of the journal, we present as a novelty the Portuguese translation of the manuscript "Applied Phenomenology: Why is it safe to ignore the epoché", by Dan Zahavi (University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark), one of the most leading contemporary researchers and commentators on phenomenology. In this article, the author evokes the distinction - not always clear - between a Transcendental Phenomenology and an Applied Phenomenology (fundamental for understanding the transition from a phenomenological philosophy to the empirical sciences) and, particularly relevant to the field of empirical research, notably that of so-called qualitative, which usually appropriates concepts of phenomenological philosophy.

Following, we present a set of empirical research that touches on diverse themes, such as health - with reports of pregnant women in the process of hospitalization -; retirement preparation, and the narrative of crack users' experience.

Theoretical studies round off this number with an equally significant and diverse set of discussions: from the clarification of a postmodern "thinking" of the human to a discussion of the relationship between phenomenology and the disalienistic movement in Brazil. and in France - with the important participation of respected names of contemporary French psychiatry, such as Tudy Gozé (Université de Toulouse, France) and Jean Naudin (Université Aix-Marseille, France) -; going through sports and the relationship between women and football; a study on the conception of motivation in Edith Stein and another on social perception in light of the praxiological conception of intentionality; to conclude with two clinical studies involving the use of self-box in the Gestalt therapy experiment and another on the relationship between Frankl and Heidegger.

Closing this issue, we bring the translation of a text by José Ortega y Gasset, entitled "Half Century of Philosophy", written in 1951, but which remained unpublished until 1980, when it was published by Revista do Occidente, commemorating the 25th anniversary of his death. from its author. We thank the heirs of Ortega y Gasset for their kindness in allowing their translation and publication in Portuguese.

Good reading to all.
