O objetivo desse estudo foi compreender sobre o diagnóstico do TEA em meninas por meio de uma revisão sistemática. Os descritores utilizados: TEA no sexo feminino; autismo em meninas; diagnóstico do autismo em meninas; diagnóstico do autismo e diagnóstico do TEA, nas bases de dados SciELO, Google Acadêmico e LILACS nos últimos 10 anos (2012-2021). Os resultados mostraram que, dos 20 estudos analisados, 50% confirmam o subdiagnóstico no gênero feminino e 40% desses estudos mencionam o diagnóstico tardio. Em relação à sintomatologia por gênero, 45% dos meninos apresentam comportamentos repetitivos e estereotipados, 25% das meninas apresentam dificuldade sociocomunicativa. Os instrumentos mais utilizados na avaliação do TEA são: ADOS, ADIR, M-CHAT. Os resultados mostraram que os sinais do TEA nas meninas são muitas vezes camuflados, passando despercebidos, contribuindo com o subdiagnóstico ou diagnóstico tardio.]]></p></abstract>

The objective of this study was to understand the diagnosis of ASD in girls through a systematic review. The descriptors used: ASD in females; autism in girls; diagnosis of autism in girls; diagnosis of autism and diagnosis of ASD, in the SciELO, Google Academic, and LILACS databases on the last 10 years (2012-2021). The results showed that of the 20 studies analyzed, 50% confirmed the underdiagnosis in feminine gender and 40% of these studies mentioned late diagnosis. <body><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;</p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	     <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="3"><b>Introdu&ccedil;&atilde;o</b></font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">O Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) &eacute; um transtorno que faz parte do rol dos transtornos do neurodesenvolvimento. Os sinais do TEA podem se apresentar nos 24 meses iniciais do indiv&iacute;duo e podem gerar preju&iacute;zos bem significativos em seu funcionamento e que comprometem as &aacute;reas ocupacionais e sociais (Zanon et al., 2014). O TEA, antes conhecido com outras nomenclaturas, passou por uma mudan&ccedil;a que viabilizou a melhora na qualifica&ccedil;&atilde;o, trazendo uma melhor sensibilidade e especificidade dos seus crit&eacute;rios diagn&oacute;sticos: ap&oacute;s essa mudan&ccedil;a, o autismo, Transtorno Desintegrativo da Inf&acirc;ncia e as s&iacute;ndromes de Asperger e Rett se tornaram apenas uma nomenclatura &uacute;nica de Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) (Ara&uacute;jo &amp; Lotufo Neto, 2014).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">O TEA &eacute; caracterizado em n&iacute;veis individuais diversos que pode haver algum comprometimento intelectual demonstrado por meio de algum preju&iacute;zo no quociente de intelig&ecirc;ncia (QI). Durante o processo de avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o, &eacute; importante que seja feito um diagn&oacute;stico diferencial, investigando se existe, al&eacute;m do sinais do autismo, uma defici&ecirc;ncia intelectual (DI), ou outras s&iacute;ndromes raras, investigando outros sinais al&eacute;m de comprometimentos ou d&eacute;ficits de ordem comportamental e sociocomunicativa. Para comprova&ccedil;&atilde;o do TEA, &eacute; necess&aacute;rio que o indiv&iacute;duo preencha todos os crit&eacute;rios diagn&oacute;sticos do autismo (American Psychology Association [APA], 2014).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">O Manual Diagn&oacute;stico e Estat&iacute;stico de Transtornos Mentais - 5 (DSM-5) apresenta diversos crit&eacute;rios que s&atilde;o utilizados para o diagn&oacute;stico do TEA, evidenciado na intera&ccedil;&atilde;o e comunica&ccedil;&atilde;o social, havendo dificuldade na comunica&ccedil;&atilde;o verbal e n&atilde;o verbal com dificuldade no contato visual, tamb&eacute;m apresentam dificuldades em realizar brincadeiras que exijam imagina&ccedil;&atilde;o e n&atilde;o demostram interesse por pares, podem apresentar movimento estereotipados e repetitivos, geralmente demostram inflexibilidade em suas rotinas, gostam em geral de um mesmo brinquedo e podem apresentar ecolalia (repetir a mesma palavra), podem expressar fasc&iacute;nio por luzes e objetos que giram e em alguns casos dependendo do grau apresentam defici&ecirc;ncia intelectual (APA, 2014).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">H&aacute; estimativa de que a popula&ccedil;&atilde;o afetada pelo TEA &eacute; de 1% e que a preval&ecirc;ncia em mulheres &eacute; quatro vezes inferior em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o aos homens (Zafeiriou et al., 2007). Houve nos &uacute;ltimos anos um aumento significativo na quantidade dos casos e isso tem sido discutido na literatura. H&aacute; algumas hip&oacute;teses explicativas para esse aumento, como maior exposi&ccedil;&atilde;o de fatores causais e tamb&eacute;m com a amplia&ccedil;&atilde;o dos crit&eacute;rios diagn&oacute;sticos; nota-se tamb&eacute;m um aumento na quantidade de profissionais com capacita&ccedil;&atilde;o para identifica&ccedil;&atilde;o dos sinais, realizando rastreamento e diagn&oacute;stico (Bishop et al., 2017).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">As causas do Transtorno do Espectro Autista s&atilde;o m&uacute;ltiplas. A hip&oacute;tese aceita no contexto cient&iacute;fico &eacute; de que provavelmente existe uma origem org&acirc;nica, que est&aacute; relacionada a mudan&ccedil;as no desenvolvimento do sistema nervoso (McKavanagh et al., 2015). No estudo de McKavanagh et al. (2015), a coluna de microc&eacute;lulas que abrange a profundidade do c&oacute;rtex cerebral em amostras de casos de TEA foi avaliada especificamente, e a avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o foi realizada em uma ampla gama de idades. Foi selecionada cuidadosamente a &aacute;rea do c&oacute;rtex a ser estudada e a propor&ccedil;&atilde;o do arranjo microcolunar do c&oacute;rtex nas quatro &aacute;reas do c&oacute;rtex (c&oacute;rtex auditivo prim&aacute;rio, c&oacute;rtex relacionado &agrave; audi&ccedil;&atilde;o, c&oacute;rtex orbitofrontal e c&oacute;rtex parietal inferior). O resultado desse estudo aponta que indiv&iacute;duos com TEA apresentam aumento na largura das minicolunas no c&eacute;rebro e isso ocorre em indiv&iacute;duos mais jovens; tanto as &aacute;reas sensoriais prim&aacute;rias quanto as associativas de ordem superior s&atilde;o afetadas, embora pare&ccedil;a haver evid&ecirc;ncias de diferencia&ccedil;&atilde;o cortical reduzida, o que pode refletir uma trajet&oacute;ria de desenvolvimento alterada.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Um estudo demonstrou que &aacute;reas do c&eacute;rebro, como am&iacute;gdala, cerebelo, hipocampo, corpo caloso e g&acirc;nglios da base, s&atilde;o danificadas e os ventr&iacute;culos aumentam de tamanho (Schaaf et al., 2014). Na &aacute;rea temporal, o sulco temporal superior &eacute; uma &aacute;rea importante para a percep&ccedil;&atilde;o de est&iacute;mulos sociais. No TEA, a percep&ccedil;&atilde;o facial e a cogni&ccedil;&atilde;o social t&ecirc;m um baixo estado de ativa&ccedil;&atilde;o. O cerebelo &eacute; considerado uma das principais estruturas danificadas em pacientes com autismo, e as c&eacute;lulas de Purkinje e as c&eacute;lulas da gl&acirc;ndula na estrutura cerebelar s&atilde;o reduzidas (Schaaf et al., 2014).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Estudos confirmam a falta de biomarcadores para autismo. N&atilde;o possuindo uma causa &uacute;nica, estes estudos apontam a combina&ccedil;&atilde;o de influ&ecirc;ncias gen&eacute;ticas, n&atilde;o gen&eacute;ticas e ambientais (Zilbovicius et al., 2006). Lameira et al. (2006), nos seus estudos, trouxeram como principal anormalidade em pacientes com autismo a disfun&ccedil;&atilde;o da rede de neur&ocirc;nios espelho e, embora n&atilde;o haja consenso sobre a marca, h&aacute; um consenso de que seja respons&aacute;vel pelas altera&ccedil;&otilde;es na fun&ccedil;&atilde;o do c&eacute;rebro.</font></p> 	    ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Outros aspectos das mudan&ccedil;as de neur&ocirc;nios em indiv&iacute;duos com TEA s&atilde;o os preju&iacute;zos na fisiologia e morfologia cerebral, como o crescimento em volume da massa encef&aacute;lica, as conex&otilde;es neurais modificadas com as causas na elimina&ccedil;&atilde;o (poda de sinapses ineficiente) e na forma&ccedil;&atilde;o sin&aacute;ptica e migra&ccedil;&atilde;o neuronal (Moura et al., 2018). Portanto, v&aacute;rias &aacute;reas corticais s&atilde;o aumentadas em sua espessura, h&aacute; uma redu&ccedil;&atilde;o sin&aacute;ptica no hipocampo, cerebelo e am&iacute;gdala e amplifica&ccedil;&atilde;o na condensa&ccedil;&atilde;o de serotonina no enc&eacute;falo. Todos os estudos citados acima mostraram evid&ecirc;ncias cient&iacute;ficas de que s&atilde;o diferentes regi&otilde;es do c&eacute;rebro que podem explicar as altera&ccedil;&otilde;es comportamentais em indiv&iacute;duos com TEA (Garcia &amp; Mosquera, 2011).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">No TEA h&aacute; comprometimento das fun&ccedil;&otilde;es executivas (FEs), apontando, assim, especificamente, a flexibilidade cognitiva e a mem&oacute;ria operacional, sendo que na brincadeira simb&oacute;lica h&aacute; uma falta n&iacute;tida desse comportamento, visto que existem padr&otilde;es restritos e repetitivos nas atividades que interessam (Wing et al., 2011). As FEs envolvem um processo cognitivo complexo e s&atilde;o indispens&aacute;veis para se organizar e se adaptar a um ambiente com sucessiva mudan&ccedil;a (Jurado &amp; Rosselli, 2007).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Estas fun&ccedil;&otilde;es s&atilde;o respons&aacute;veis pela autorregula&ccedil;&atilde;o ou autogest&atilde;o, e incluem habilidades como inibi&ccedil;&atilde;o, planejamento, flexibilidade mental, flu&ecirc;ncia na linguagem e mem&oacute;ria de trabalho (Hamdan &amp; Pereira, 2009). Diversas dessas habilidades no TEA sofrem preju&iacute;zo, gerando uma falta de flexibilidade e comportamentos r&iacute;gidos, comunica&ccedil;&atilde;o problem&aacute;tica e grande dificuldade em engajar-se nas intera&ccedil;&otilde;es sociais (Sigman et al., 2006).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Nos &uacute;ltimos anos o relato de frequ&ecirc;ncia do autismo tem aumentado principalmente nos Estados Unidos e outros pa&iacute;ses tamb&eacute;m t&ecirc;m tido essa preval&ecirc;ncia com o alcance de 1% da popula&ccedil;&atilde;o; as amostras de crian&ccedil;as e adultos demonstram estimativas similares (APA, 2014). Foi constatado nos &uacute;ltimos anos que na popula&ccedil;&atilde;o mundial houve o aumento significativo da preval&ecirc;ncia do TEA (Baio et al., 2018). Ainda nos Estados Unidos, mais recentemente a estimativa da preval&ecirc;ncia foi de 2,47% entre crian&ccedil;as e adolescentes em 2014/2016 (Xu et al., 2018).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">No Brasil um estudo em Santa Catarina estimou a frequ&ecirc;ncia de TEA identificando a preval&ecirc;ncia de 1,31 pessoas com o transtorno em cada 10.000 indiv&iacute;duos (Ferreira, 2008). Em S&atilde;o Paulo houve uma estimativa de preval&ecirc;ncia de 0,88% de casos em uma popula&ccedil;&atilde;o de 1.470 crian&ccedil;as (Ribeiro, 2007).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">O TEA &eacute; mais facilmente identificado nos meninos em compara&ccedil;&atilde;o &agrave;s meninas e chega a uma taxa proporcional de 5:1 (Wing, 1993). A proporcionalidade &eacute; de uma menina para 3 meninos acometidos com essa condi&ccedil;&atilde;o, havendo assim uma predomin&acirc;ncia inferior em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o &agrave;s meninas (Bryson &amp; Smith, 1998).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Um estudo utilizando dados de pacientes e tamb&eacute;m informa&ccedil;&otilde;es do Registro Nacional noruegu&ecirc;s, para se calcular a porcentagem de crian&ccedil;as com TEA, apontou que majoritariamente a preval&ecirc;ncia do TEA em meninas &eacute; de 0,3%, em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o aos meninos, que &eacute; de 1,1%, atendendo aos crit&eacute;rios diagn&oacute;sticos, sendo que esses diagn&oacute;sticos s&atilde;o bem fundamentados e trazem a corrobora&ccedil;&atilde;o com os elementos obtidos que mostram um percentual de 83,8% do sexo masculino em uma amostra de 685 crian&ccedil;as (Rocha et al., 2019; Sur&eacute;n et al., 2019). Ent&atilde;o, h&aacute; uma preval&ecirc;ncia do transtorno menor em meninas do que em meninos (Sur&eacute;n et al., 2019).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Outro estudo, em um quadro de 1.000 indiv&iacute;duos em fase de desenvolvimento, apontou a preval&ecirc;ncia de 13,4 crian&ccedil;as diagnosticadas com TEA em 2010, havendo um crescimento em 2012 para 15,3 e em 2014 para 17,0 (Christensen et al., 2019). O n&uacute;mero de crian&ccedil;as com TEA vem aumentando a cada ano.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">De acordo com investiga&ccedil;&otilde;es epidemiol&oacute;gicas, h&aacute; um acometimento do TEA inferior em meninas do que em meninos, havendo uma propor&ccedil;&atilde;o mediana com relatos de uma menina para 3,5 a 4,0 meninos (Rutter, 2005) e chega-se a levantar a hip&oacute;tese de que o TEA seria uma condi&ccedil;&atilde;o de genes ligados ao cromossomo X, deixando indiv&iacute;duos do sexo masculino com maior vulnerabilidade, por&eacute;m essa hip&oacute;tese ainda n&atilde;o foi comprovada cientificamente.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">O TEA nas meninas tende a ter sintomatologia diversa e existem evid&ecirc;ncias de que nelas os sintomas s&atilde;o de maior severidade (Wing, 1996). As meninas que s&atilde;o acometidas com esse transtorno disp&otilde;em de QI de menor grau de acordo com estudo (Lord et al., 1989). Algumas caracter&iacute;sticas observ&aacute;veis que s&atilde;o tidas como normais em mulheres com TEA podem ter sido inobservadas clinicamente quanto &agrave; sua relev&acirc;ncia como a timidez e hipersensibilidade (Skuse et al., 2004).</font></p> 	    ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">H&aacute; a argumenta&ccedil;&atilde;o de que no TEA existe pouca diferencia&ccedil;&atilde;o nas mulheres, pois devido ao alto grau de funcionamento do autismo h&aacute; o risco de n&atilde;o ser detectado nos crit&eacute;rios diagn&oacute;sticos comuns (Kreiser &amp; White, 2014). As meninas com autismo apresentam comportamentos socialmente espec&iacute;ficos e disfar&ccedil;am com mais efic&aacute;cia os sintomas, fazendo com que haja subnotifica&ccedil;&atilde;o do TEA (Dean et al., 2017).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Em um estudo realizado com pessoas de ambos os sexos e diagnosticadas com TEA foi descoberto que o sexo feminino demonstrava gravidade mais acentuada no que tange &agrave; parte sociocomunicativa e tamb&eacute;m uma defasagem no quociente de intelig&ecirc;ncia, constatando assim na parte de funcionalidade de adapta&ccedil;&atilde;o, por&eacute;m demostravam menos estereotipias e repeti&ccedil;&atilde;o nos comportamentos (Frazier et al., 2014).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">O TEA tem sido diagnosticado quatro vezes mais em indiv&iacute;duos do sexo masculino que no sexo feminino; meninas t&ecirc;m mais propens&atilde;o de ter presente a defici&ecirc;ncia intelectual concomitante e sugere-se que, se n&atilde;o apresentarem concomit&acirc;ncia intelectual ou linguagem atrasada, correm o risco de n&atilde;o serem diagnosticadas, pois elas apresentam mais sutileza nas dificuldades sociocomunicacionais (APA, 2014).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Por meio de um estudo investigativo epidemiol&oacute;gico criou-se uma estimativa em que indiv&iacute;duos do sexo masculino t&ecirc;m superado em quantidade as mulheres na condi&ccedil;&atilde;o do TEA em uma taxa proporcional de 1,9-16 para cada pessoa do sexo feminino com diagn&oacute;stico, havendo uma intermit&ecirc;ncia com modera&ccedil;&atilde;o no que diz respeito &agrave; compet&ecirc;ncia mental (Fombonne, 2009).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Houve um aumento significativo na quantidade de pessoas identificadas com o TEA nos &uacute;ltimos tempos, pois pessoas com o coeficiente de intelig&ecirc;ncia mediana e acima tamb&eacute;m foram diagnosticadas (Baker, 2002). Esse crescimento de diagn&oacute;sticos desses indiv&iacute;duos corroborou com um decr&eacute;scimo proporcional de g&ecirc;nero de 8:1 para 3,5:1 e sugere o acr&eacute;scimo no reconhecimento das mulheres com diagn&oacute;stico (Fombonne, 2009).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Ent&atilde;o, presume-se que esse acr&eacute;scimo de assimila&ccedil;&atilde;o dos casos de TEA tem sido devido a uma reflex&atilde;o que amplia o conceito sobre o transtorno, incluindo assim casos menos severos, e tamb&eacute;m ao acr&eacute;scimo da quantidade de direcionamento e devido ao maior esclarecimento do p&uacute;blico e, com isso, leva-se evidentemente a uma melhor identifica&ccedil;&atilde;o de pessoas que t&ecirc;m o transtorno e que disp&otilde;em de intelig&ecirc;ncia acima da m&eacute;dia e tamb&eacute;m as mulheres acometidas com TEA que n&atilde;o foram diagnosticadas na inf&acirc;ncia e que apresentam esse alto padr&atilde;o de intelig&ecirc;ncia (Fombonne, 2005).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o aos instrumentos utilizados no diagn&oacute;stico do TEA, o M-CHAT (Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers) tem sido o instrumento mais utilizado pelos profissionais nos Estados Unidos e geralmente se utiliza em crian&ccedil;as a partir de um ano e meio de idade (Robins et al., 2001). J&aacute; no Brasil, o instrumento que se mais utiliza &eacute; o Protocolo de Avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o para Crian&ccedil;as com Suspeita de Transtornos do Espectro do Autismo (PRO-TEA) (Marques &amp; Bosa, 2015).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Nas meninas o diagn&oacute;stico do TEA tende a ser de menor probabilidade na inf&acirc;ncia em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o aos meninos (Begeer et al., 2013). Conforme evid&ecirc;ncias apresentadas em diferentes estudos, as mulheres s&atilde;o diagnosticadas tardiamente em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o ao sexo masculino (Andersson et al., 2013). Esse diagn&oacute;stico tardio est&aacute; associado ao fato de que meninas com caracter&iacute;sticas autistas apresentam dificuldades sociocomunicativas e os sintomas cl&iacute;nicos de autismo s&atilde;o pouco reconhecidos (Giarelli et al., 2010) e seu diagn&oacute;stico vem com uma idade mais avan&ccedil;ada (Begeer et al., 2013).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Para compreender se existem diferen&ccedil;as sintomatol&oacute;gicas do autismo em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o ao g&ecirc;nero, quais sinais s&atilde;o mais presentes no autismo em meninas e conhecer quais instrumentos mais utilizados no diagn&oacute;stico do TEA, realizamos um estudo de revis&atilde;o sistem&aacute;tica. O objetivo principal desta investiga&ccedil;&atilde;o foi compreender sobre o diagn&oacute;stico do autismo em meninas. A complexidade do diagn&oacute;stico do autismo em meninas resultando em diagn&oacute;stico tardio ou subnotifica&ccedil;&atilde;o foram os aspectos que motivaram esse estudo.</font></p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="3"><b>M&eacute;todo</b></font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">O m&eacute;todo utilizado foi a de revis&atilde;o sistem&aacute;tica de literatura. Foram selecionados estudos nacionais e internacionais publicados nos &uacute;ltimos 10 anos (2012-2021) indexados nas bases de dados, SciELO, LILACS e Google Acad&ecirc;mico. Os descritores utilizados foram TEA no sexo feminino, autismo em meninas, diagn&oacute;stico do autismo em meninas, diagn&oacute;stico do autismo em meninas e diagn&oacute;stico do TEA. As buscas dos descritores foram feitas em portugu&ecirc;s e em ingl&ecirc;s.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">A sele&ccedil;&atilde;o do material utilizado se deu atrav&eacute;s das leituras do t&iacute;tulo, resumos, metodologia e tamb&eacute;m a leitura na &iacute;ntegra do estudo. Como crit&eacute;rios de inclus&atilde;o foram utilizados estudos publicados nos &uacute;ltimos dez anos (2012-2021) contanto que fossem em idioma portugu&ecirc;s ou ingl&ecirc;s, independentemente do pa&iacute;s de publica&ccedil;&atilde;o, estudos publicados em revista, teses e disserta&ccedil;&otilde;es.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">O total dos estudos listados a partir dos descritores utilizados foi de 55 artigos. Dessa amostra, foram exclu&iacute;dos 35 por se tratar de estudos de revis&atilde;o, estudos publicados h&aacute; mais de dez anos, e que n&atilde;o tratavam do tema proposto. A amostra final foi constitu&iacute;da de 20 estudos. O processo de busca e sele&ccedil;&atilde;o dos estudos est&aacute; representado pela <a href="#f01">Figura 1</a>.</font></p> 	    <p><a name="f01"></a></p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	    <p align="center"><img src="/img/revistas/psicoped/v39n120/13f01.jpg"></p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	     <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="3"><b>Resultados</b></font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">De acordo com os crit&eacute;rios utilizados para inclus&atilde;o, a an&aacute;lise foi de 20 estudos, incluindo artigos, teses e disserta&ccedil;&otilde;es. A plataforma do Google Acad&ecirc;mico foi o canal de base de dados no qual foi encontrada a maior parcela de estudos seguindo os descritores utilizados, sendo de 75% dos trabalhos inclu&iacute;dos, seguida do LILACS, com 20%, e SciELO, com 5%.</font></p> 	    ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">As vari&aacute;veis utilizadas para an&aacute;lise foram ano da publica&ccedil;&atilde;o, tipo de estudo, pa&iacute;s onde foi realizado o estudo, distribui&ccedil;&atilde;o por g&ecirc;nero, sintomas mais observ&aacute;veis quanto ao g&ecirc;nero e diagn&oacute;stico e subdiagn&oacute;stico e tamb&eacute;m o uso de instrumentos usados na avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o do TEA.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Quanto ao ano em que foram publicados os estudos, 30% em 2019, 2020 e 2016 com 15%, e 2021 e 2018 com 10%, observando que nos &uacute;ltimos anos esse tema tem ganhado bastante relev&acirc;ncia e &eacute; notoriamente vis&iacute;vel o crescimento de pesquisas sobre essa tem&aacute;tica. Os pa&iacute;ses com o maior n&uacute;mero de estudos foram Brasil, com 55%, seguido dos Estados Unidos com 10%, Nepal, Portugal, Holanda, Alemanha, M&eacute;xico, Pol&ocirc;nia e Fran&ccedil;a com 5% cada.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Isso possibilita observar que o transtorno tem sido investigado em diversos pa&iacute;ses, mostrando que diferentes culturas s&atilde;o acometidas pelo TEA. Sobre o delineamento da pesquisa, foi poss&iacute;vel a identifica&ccedil;&atilde;o desses estudos como sendo a maioria dos tipos explorat&oacute;rio descritivo, utilizando prontu&aacute;rios 25%, seguidos de 20% estudos de campo e 15% estudos de caso.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">A quantifica&ccedil;&atilde;o de indiv&iacute;duos que fizeram parte das pesquisas totaliza 3.394 pessoas, sendo 79,91% do g&ecirc;nero masculino e 20,09% do g&ecirc;nero feminino, que mostra que o TEA acomete mais pessoas do g&ecirc;nero masculino que do feminino numa propor&ccedil;&atilde;o de quatro para um, que demonstra um aumento de oito ou nove em amostragem de funcionamento superior (Mandy et al., 2011).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o ao diagn&oacute;stico por g&ecirc;nero, os resultados mostraram que 50% desses estudos confirmam o subdiagn&oacute;stico ou subnotifica&ccedil;&atilde;o de indiv&iacute;duos do g&ecirc;nero feminino e 40% mencionam o diagn&oacute;stico tardio, apenas 10% dos estudos relatam o diagn&oacute;stico em idades semelhantes (<a href="#t1">Quadro 1</a>).</font></p> 	    <p><a name="t1"></a></p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	    <p align="center"><img src="/img/revistas/psicoped/v39n120/13t1.jpg"></p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Quanto &agrave; sintomatologia das pessoas que s&atilde;o diagnosticadas com esse transtorno do neurodesenvolvimento, 45% dos estudos analisados mostraram que nos meninos os comportamentos repetitivos e as estereotipias s&atilde;o mais frequentes, no g&ecirc;nero feminino esse comportamento &eacute; menos presente (Tillmann et al., 2018), enquanto 25% dos estudos analisados mostraram que nas meninas o comportamento mais presente &eacute; de dificuldade sociocomunicativa, havendo maior sutileza de sintomas (Lai et al., 2011) (<a href="#t2">Quadro 2</a>).</font></p> 	    ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><a name="t2"></a></p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	    <p align="center"><img src="/img/revistas/psicoped/v39n120/13t2.jpg"></p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">A maior parte dos estudos (75%) utilizou algum modelo de instrumento de rastreio ou diagn&oacute;stico. Os instrumentos de avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o no TEA foram discriminados na seguinte ordem de utiliza&ccedil;&atilde;o, sendo o ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation) mais frequente nos estudos (30%), pois &eacute; tida como uma ferramenta padr&atilde;o ouro entre as que s&atilde;o aceitas para a realiza&ccedil;&atilde;o do diagn&oacute;stico (Lord et al., 1989). &Eacute; seguida do ADIR (Autistic Diagnostic Interview Revised), com 15%, que &eacute; uma entrevista de diagn&oacute;stico do autismo, revisado, que conta com muitos detalhes sobre a caracteriza&ccedil;&atilde;o de comportamento e desenvolvimento (Lord et al., 1994). A ferramenta M-CHAT (Modified-Checklist for Autism in Toddlers) foi encontrada em 15% dos estudos e &eacute; uma avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o modificada do TEA em crian&ccedil;as (Robins et al., 2001).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Para avaliar as habilidades sociais e adaptativas, usa-se o SRS (Social Responsive Scale), que foi encontrado em 10% dos estudos e essa entrevista pode ser utilizada com um dos pais (Constantino et al., 2003). O ICA/ABC (Autism Behavior Checklist) &eacute; um instrumento de avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o que lista e verifica os comportamentos do TEA e apareceu em 10% dos trabalhos (Krug et al., 1980). O CARS (Childhood Autism Rating Scale) que, apesar do ano em que foi desenvolvido, &eacute; listado em 10% dos estudos utilizados, sendo uma escala de avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o do autismo infantil (Schopler et al., 1980). Na <a href="#t3">Tabela 1</a> foram listados e pode-se verificar todos os instrumentos utilizados nos estudos, ainda que tenha havido estudo que utilizou esses instrumentos em conjunto.</font></p> 	    <p><a name="t3"></a></p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	    <p align="center"><img src="/img/revistas/psicoped/v39n120/13t3.jpg"></p> 	     <p>&nbsp;</p> 	    ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="3"><b>Discuss&atilde;o</b></font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">O Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) &eacute; definido como um transtorno complexo do desenvolvimento, do ponto de vista comportamental, com diferentes etiologias presentes em ambos os g&ecirc;neros, que se manifesta em graus variados (Gadia, 2006). O objetivo do estudo foi compreender sobre a complexidade do diagn&oacute;stico do autismo em meninas e, consequentemente, verificar se existem diferen&ccedil;as sintomatol&oacute;gicas do autismo em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o ao g&ecirc;nero e conhecer quais instrumentos mais utilizados no diagn&oacute;stico do TEA.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Os resultados encontrados demonstram evid&ecirc;ncias do subdiagn&oacute;stico ou diagn&oacute;stico tardio do TEA em indiv&iacute;duos do g&ecirc;nero feminino. Esses resultados convergem com estudos (Van Wijngaarden-Cremers et al., 2014) que mostram que o TEA em meninas tende a permanecer sem diagn&oacute;stico ou que o diagn&oacute;stico &eacute; bem posterior aos indiv&iacute;duos do g&ecirc;nero masculino e h&aacute; um predom&iacute;nio nas pesquisas desse fen&oacute;tipo e que, em contrapartida, a sintomatologia no fen&oacute;tipo feminino acaba gerando uma m&aacute; interpreta&ccedil;&atilde;o ou caindo no esquecimento.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Estudos ainda pontuam que o diagn&oacute;stico tardio das pessoas do sexo feminino pode estar associado ao preconceito de g&ecirc;nero, pois culturalmente &eacute; ensinado que meninas devem ser mais comportadas, n&atilde;o sendo levada em considera&ccedil;&atilde;o a dificuldade sociocomunicativa, contribuindo assim com o subdiagn&oacute;stico ou diagn&oacute;stico tardio (Rutherford et al., 2016).</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Considerando a complexidade que envolve o diagn&oacute;stico do autismo, em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o &agrave; sintomatologia por g&ecirc;nero, os dados mostraram que existe uma diferen&ccedil;a quanto aos sinais. Os meninos apresentam comportamentos repetitivos e estereotipados e as meninas apresentam dificuldades sociocomunicativa; esse padr&atilde;o comportamental do TEA nas meninas muitas vezes camufla os sinais, dificultando o diagn&oacute;stico. Os resultados convergem com um estudo (Holtman et al., 2007) que afirma que os sinais do TEA s&atilde;o mais sutis nas meninas, sendo estes considerados como timidez ou ansiedade, e isso pode estar associado a uma incorreta interpreta&ccedil;&atilde;o dos sinais e, consequentemente, a um diagn&oacute;stico equivocado.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o aos instrumentos utilizados no processo de avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o do TEA, tanto no contexto internacional como no nacional os dados mostraram que n&atilde;o existe um &uacute;nico instrumento e que &eacute; comum os profissionais utilizarem esses instrumentos em conjunto.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Os estudos analisados para esse trabalho trouxeram informa&ccedil;&otilde;es relevantes sobre o diagn&oacute;stico do autismo em meninas. Esses dados podem oferecer par&acirc;metros diferenciando os sinais do TEA em meninos e em meninas. Essa informa&ccedil;&atilde;o pode contribuir para o diagn&oacute;stico do TEA em meninas ainda em uma idade precoce, possibilitando uma melhor interven&ccedil;&atilde;o.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Os resultados encontrados por esta pesquisa devem ser analisados com cautela, considerando o n&uacute;mero reduzido de estudos avaliados, mas, apesar dessa limita&ccedil;&atilde;o, esses dados j&aacute; fornecem evid&ecirc;ncias de que muitas vezes o diagn&oacute;stico do autismo em meninas &eacute; feito tardiamente ou at&eacute; mesmo ignorado. Esses dados podem contribuir com o melhor direcionamento das pesquisas voltadas para o diagn&oacute;stico do autismo em meninas, assim como para a atua&ccedil;&atilde;o cl&iacute;nica de profissionais que avaliam tal transtorno.</font></p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	     <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="3"><b>Considera&ccedil;&otilde;es</b></font></p> 	    ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">O estudo exp&ocirc;s a complexidade envolvendo diagn&oacute;stico do autismo em meninas, mostrando quais sinais est&atilde;o mais presentes nas meninas diagnosticadas e quais instrumentos mais utilizados na avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o do transtorno na atualidade. Por ser um estudo de revis&atilde;o sistem&aacute;tica, os resultados encontrados podem contribuir para a compreens&atilde;o do estado da arte sobre o diagn&oacute;stico do autismo em meninas.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Esses resultados podem fornecer informa&ccedil;&otilde;es aos profissionais que trabalham com investiga&ccedil;&atilde;o do TEA sobre a import&acirc;ncia de ficar atento &agrave;s diferen&ccedil;as sintomatol&oacute;gicas do autismo em meninas e meninos. Diante dos resultados, &eacute; importante tamb&eacute;m observar vari&aacute;veis culturais e sociais, pois nas meninas h&aacute; uma maior cobran&ccedil;a de ordem comportamental quanto ao modo que devem agir e seguir padr&otilde;es que s&atilde;o impostos pela sociedade, o que pode interferir durante a investiga&ccedil;&atilde;o do transtorno nas meninas.</font></p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Estudos futuros deveriam centrar aten&ccedil;&atilde;o para o desenvolvimento de instrumentos mais sens&iacute;veis e espec&iacute;ficos considerando as diferen&ccedil;as de g&ecirc;nero no autismo, contribuindo para que haja melhor compreens&atilde;o dos sinais que evidenciam a possibilidade de um diagn&oacute;stico precoce do TEA em meninas, minimizando preju&iacute;zos futuros.</font></p> 	    <p>&nbsp;</p> 	    <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="3"><b>Refer&ecirc;ncias</b></font></p> 	    <!-- ref --><p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">American Psychology Association.
