Resumo Um fragmento de um caso clínico é apresentado para se pensar os fracassos do analisando e da analista. Intercorrências na vida social e profissional do analisando levaram a uma interrupção da análise. Haveria análise sem fracassos? Ficou uma escrita de textos livres do analisando e a gentileza da analista em ler e comentar os escritos.

Abstract A fragment of a clinical case is presented to reflect on the failures of the analysand and the analyst. Intercurrences in the social and professional life of the analysand led to an interruption of the analysis. Would there be an analysis without failures? There was a writing of free texts by the analyzing and a kindness in reading and commenting on the writings by the analyst.

Freud and the “Three essays on the theory of sexuality” – dialogue with primatology in “Dfferents” by Frans de Waal

Resumo A importância de Darwin na obra freudiana. A primatologia, ciência incriada ao tempo do pai da psicanálise. Classificação geral dos hominídeos, destacando as duas espécies mais próximas aos seres humanos: chimpanzés e bonobos. Paralelos entre a sexualidade segundo os Três ensaios e as descobertas sobre comportamento desses primatas. A frequência da bissexualidade observada nessas duas espécies conflui com as conclusões de Freud e as pesquisas de Kinsey. Frequência e variedade de condutas sexuais em ambas as espécies, amplamente contrárias e/ou superando a necessidade para reprodução. Também confluindo com a descrição da sexualidade perverso polimorfa. Bonobos como espécie que é governada por fêmeas alfa. Diferença entre sexo e gênero também observada em ambas as espécies próximas de primatas. Criação do conceito de sublimação por Freud tendo similaridade com o de “cola social” observado pelos primatólogos. O parentesco entre o conceito freudiano de pulsão com o biológico de neotenia – capacidade de aprendizado a vida inteira. O mito do patriarcado, desde os Três ensaios até Moisés e o monoteísmo, desmitificação como culturalmente recente e não sendo biológico.

Abstract The importance of Darwin in Freud’s work. Primatology, uncreated science or time of the father of psychoanalysis. General classification of hominids, highlighting the two species closest to humans: chimpanzees and bonobos. Parallels between sexuality according to the Three Essays and discoveries about the behavior of these primates. The frequency of bisexuality observed in these two species converges with Freud’s conclusions and Kinsey’s research. Frequency and variety of sexual behaviors in both species, largely contrary to and/or exceeding the need for reproduction. Also converging with the description of polymorphous perverse sexuality. Bonobos as a species that are ruled by alpha females. Difference between sex and gender also observed in both closely related primate species. Creation of the concept of sublimation by Freud, similar to that of “social glue” observed by primatologists. The kinship between the Freudian concept of drive and the biological concept of neoteny – the ability to learn throughout life. The myth of patriarchy, from the Three Essays to Moses and monotheism, demystification as culturally recent and not biological.

Supervision at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies of Childhood and Adolescence – NEPsI: the craft and transmission of Psychoanalysis

Resumo Este trabalho aborda o lugar da supervisão de atendimentos psicanalíticos de crianças e adolescentes na formação do analista, realizando uma articulação entre a constituição do analista e a constituição do sujeito. Também apresenta questões sobre a especificidade da supervisão de atendimentos psicanalíticos com crianças e adolescentes e seus efeitos no analista em formação, que está encontrando o seu estilo. Para essa reflexão, fazemos uma costura com a vivência como supervisora da clínica do Núcleo de Estudos Psicanalíticos da Infância e Adolescência (NEPsI), que pertence a Clínica Social do Círculo Brasileiro de Psicanálise – seção Rio de Janeiro (CBP-Rj).

Abstract This work addresses the place of supervision of psychoanalytic care for children and adolescents in the training of the analyst, creating a link between the constitution of the analyst and the constitution of the subject. It also presents questions about the specificity of supervising psychoanalytic care with children and adolescents and its effects on the analyst in training, who is finding his style. For this reflection, we draw on my experience as supervisor of the clinic at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies of Childhood and Adolescence – NEPsI, which belongs to the Social Clinic of the Brazilian Psychoanalysis Circle – Rio de Janeiro – Section CBP-RJ.

Brief considerations about “Repression” in Freud

Resumo Este ensaio tem como finalidade discutir a elaboração do conceito de recalque presente no artigo Recalcamento, de Freud. A partir de uma vinheta clínica, busca circunscrever o conceito freudiano orientado pela perspectiva da primeira topologia do aparelho psíquico, dialogando com fragmentos de um filme. O artigo freudiano em discussão se configura como um dos temas metapsicológicos de Freud e ainda hoje nos auxilia na direção do tratamento psicanalítico.

Abstract This essay aims to discuss the elaboration of the concept of repression present in the article “Repression”, by Freud. Based on a clinical vignette, it seeks to circumscribe the Freudian concept guided by the perspective of the first topology of the psychic apparatus, dialoguing with fragments of a film. The Freudian article under discussion is configured as one of Freud’s metapsychological themes and still helps us in the direction of psychoanalytic treatment.

The writing of the feminine in “The Days of Abandonment”, by Elena Ferrante

Resumo Analisar uma obra literária para desenvolver conceitos psicanalíticos e apresentar os conflitos inerentes à subjetividade foi um recurso que Freud utilizou diversas vezes. Com esse objetivo, este trabalho examina a produção literária Dias de abandono, de Elena Ferrante, para refletir sobre a escrita e o encontro com o desejo de narrar como possibilidade de sobrevivência à experiência de devastação, que perpassa as mulheres ao perder o amor do objeto.

Abstract Mobilizing a literary work to develop psychoanalytic concepts and present the conflicts inherent to subjectivity was a resource that Freud used several times. To this end, this work mobilizes the literary production “Days of abandonment” by Elena Ferrante to reflect on writing and the encounter with the desire to narrate as a possibility of surviving the experience of devastation that pervades women when they lose the love of the object.

The body and subjectivity of the subject

Resumo Trata-se de uma revisão sistemática sobre o tema corpo, cuja base de dados foi a revista Estudos de Psicanálise. Método: Os critérios de inclusão dos artigos foram a palavra-chave “corpo” e a limitação temporal dos últimos 10 anos. Durante os 54 anos em que a revista foi editada, apenas 15 trabalhos foram publicados com essa temática e 8 foram publicados de 2012 a 2022. Objetivo: Descobrir se houve mudanças na forma de pensar ou sentir o corpo, do ponto de visto psicanalítico, nestes últimos dez anos. Resultados: Cada texto ofereceu uma perspectiva única sobre a relação entre corpo e a lente poderosa da psicanálise para compreender o sofrimento psíquico expresso através do corpo. Conclusão: Com as novas formas de subjetivação na contemporaneidade, os sofrimentos não mais seguem a lógica do conflito psíquico, do recalque e da representação, pois são sofrimentos que se caracterizam pela impossibilidade de representação e nomeação. Entretanto, a psicanálise mantém a sua relevância, viva e atual, na análise das respostas humanas aos desafios sociais.

Abstract This is a systematic review on the topic of the body, with the database being the journal “Estudos de Psicanálise”. Method: The inclusion criteria for the articles were the keyword “body” and a time limitation of the last 10 years. Over the 54 years during which the journal was published, only 15 papers were published on this theme, with eight of them being published from 2012 to 2022. Objective: To discover whether there have been changes in the way the body is thought about or felt, from a psychoanalytic point of view, in the last ten years. Results: Each text offered a unique perspective on the relationship between the body and the powerful lens of psychoanalysis for understanding psychic suffering expressed through the body. Conclusion: With new forms of subjectivity in contemporary times, suffering no longer follows the logic of psychic conflict, repression, and representation, as it is characterized by the impossibility of representation and naming. However, psychoanalysis remains relevant, alive, and current in analyzing human responses to social challenges.

125 years of psychoanalysis and the ethics of the psychoanalyst

Resumo A autora apresenta um panorama da evolução cultural humana, partindo dos primórdios da humanidade até o aparecimento da psicanálise, no final do século XIX e começo do século XX. Introduz a figura de Sigmund Freud, o criador da psicanálise, e a trajetória desse novo saber, que traz à luz a instância do inconsciente. Fala também das principais obras freudianas, chegando até Jacques Lacan, no século XX, que faz uma releitura de Freud. Discute ainda o conceito de ética, salientando que a psicanálise tem uma ética própria, que é a ética do sujeito do inconsciente, a ética do bem dizer. Por fim, destaca o papel do analista na sociedade e as diversas aberturas que a psicanálise trouxe para o ser humano.

Abstract The author presents an overview of human cultural evolution, starting from the beginnings of humanity, until the appearance of psychoanalysis, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It introduces the figure of Sigmund Freud, the creator of Psychoanalysis, and the trajectory of this new knowledge, which brings to light the instance of the unconscious. She also talks about the main Freudian works, reaching Jacques Lacan, in the 20th century, who rereads Freud. It also discusses the concept of Ethics, emphasizing that Psychoanalysis has its own ethics, which is the ethics of the subject of the unconscious, the ethics of saying this subject’s truth. Finally, she highlights the role of the analyst in society and the various openings that Psychoanalysis has brought to human beings.

Concern and the liquidity of human relations: a winnicottian reading

Resumo O artigo discute o fenômeno da modernidade líquida sob a ótica da teoria do amadurecimento humano, de Winnicott. Para isso, analisou-se fragmentos do livro e cenas do filme homônimos Precisamos falar sobre o Kevin, com foco na relação de Kevin e seu ambiente, para sustentar a proposição de que a liquidez e a fragilidade dos laços sociais humanos são um fenômeno macrossocial, composto por vários fenômenos microssociais, que apontam para “falhas ambientais” em diversas esferas, mas que, de forma microssocial, têm sua origem na qualidade da relação entre o ambiente-cuidador e o bebê, em um período primitivo específico do desenvolvimento emocional - estágio de concern -, que compromete a aquisição da capacidade de se preocupar com o outro.

Abstract The article discusses the phenomenon of liquid modernity from the perspective of Winnicotfs theory of human maturation. For this, literary fragments and scenes from the homonymous film were analyzed: “We need to talk about Kevin”, focusing on Kevin’s relationship and his environment, to support the proposition that liquidity and the fragility of human social ties are a macrosocial phenomenon, composed of several microsocial phenomena that point to “environmental failures” in different spheres; but which, in a microsocial way, have their origins in the quality of the relationship between the caregiver-environment and the baby, in a specific primitive period of emotional development - stage of concern -, which compromises the acquisition of the ability to worry about the other.

Justification Systems Theory (JUST) and some psychoanalytic assumptions: transdisciplinary reflections

Resumo Este ensaio estabelece pontos de contato entre uma abordagem metateórica denominada Teoria dos Sistemas de Justificação (JUST; Henriques, 2022) e algumas premissas psicanalíticas. A Teoria dos Sistemas de Justificação oferece um arcabouço explicativo visando esclarecer a singularidade da consciência e da comunicação humana. Essa abordagem mantém uma perspectiva evolutiva, preservando a continuidade com a experiência primata e enquadrando a cultura humana como sistemas de justificação. Destaca-se a convergência com pressupostos freudianos, notavelmente evidenciados pelo modelo tripartido atualizado, composto por eu experiencial, eu privado (ego) e eu público (persona), paralelos com a estrutura tripartida do isso, eu e supereu na teoria freudiana. A consciência humana é interpretada como um aparato mental evolutivamente novo, cumprindo uma função adaptativa de narrar justificações que legitimam e coordenam ações no plano cultural. Abstract This essay establishes conceptual connections between a metatheoretical approach, namely, Justification Systems Theory (JUST; Henriques, 2022) and some psychoanalytic premises. Justification Systems Theory provides an explanatory framework aiming to clarify the uniqueness of human consciousness and communication. This approach maintains an evolutionary perspective, preserving continuity with the primate experience and framing human culture as systems of justification. The convergence with Freudian assumptions is highlighted, notably evidenced by the updated tripartite model, composed of experiential self, private self (ego), and public self (persona), paralleling the tripartite structure of id, ego, and superego in Freudian theory. Human consciousness is interpreted as an evolutionarily novel mental apparatus, serving an adaptive function by narrating justifications that legitimize and coordinate actions in the culture plane.

Supervision in clinic at the NEPIA-CPRS training course

Resumo Este ensaio objetiva caracterizar a demanda da supervisão em grupo do curso complementar em formação psicanalítica na clínica com crianças e adolescentes do Núcleo de Estudos de Psicanálise da Infância e Adolescência (NEPIA) do Círculo Psicanalítico do Rio Grande do Sul (CPRS), situando a história da supervisão na formação psicanalítica e examinando seus efeitos no processo formativo. A presente reflexão parte de recortes clínicos fornecidos por analistas ou candidatos do curso. A partir desses fragmentos, procura-se abrir possibilidades de intervenções, analisando algumas das hipóteses diagnósticas com fundamentos teóricos de Freud, Gutfreind, Rassial, Sigal, Volich, entre outros.

Abstract This essay aims to characterize the demand for group supervision under the scope of the complementary course in psychoanalytic training in children’s and adolescents’ clinic at the Núcleo de Estudos de Psicanálise da Infância e Adolescência (Center for Psychoanalytical Studies of Childhood and Adolescence — NEPIA) of the Círculo Psicoanalítico do Rio Grande do Sul (Psychanalytical Circle of Rio Grande do Sul — CPRS), situating the history of supervision in psychoanalytic training and examining its effects on the training process. This reflection is based on clinical clippings provided by analysts or course candidates. From these fragments, we try to open up possibilities for interventions, analyzing some of the diagnostic hypotheses with theoretical foundations from Freud, Gutfreind, Rassial, Sigal, and Volich, among others.

Identity (de)constructions: reflections on indigenous peoples in the Amazon

Resumo Este trabalho visa provocar um debate sobre os processos identificatórios em relação às populações indígenas na Amazônia. A violência de atos discriminatórios que se opera em relação a essa parcela da população brasileira, está presente desde os tempos coloniais e continuam no presente. Neste recorte, representado pela história de Mary, uma indígena da etnia Tembé, no Estado do Pará, emerge de sua escuta singular, o conflituoso laço com o social dominador. Seguiremos o enfoque psicanalítico.

Abstract This work aims to provoke a debate about the identification processes in relation to indigenous populations in the Amazon. Drawings and the psychoanalytic clinic with children and adolescents

Resumo O presente trabalho apresenta parte dos estudos desenvolvidos no módulo O desenho infantil na clínica psicanalítica com crianças e adolescentes, promovido pelo Núcleo de Estudos da Infância e Adolescência (NEPIA) do Círculo Psicanalítico do Rio Grande do Sul (CPRS). Um dos recursos utilizados pelos profissionais que trabalham na área o desenho atende à demanda anunciada pelos que buscam compreender e amenizar o sofrimento de pacientes que estão vivenciando a infância e a adolescência. O estudo tem como propósito refletir sobre o desenho como possibilidade de entrar em contato com o mundo interno desses pacientes e perceber os movimentos pulsionais, libidinais e agressivos que estabelecem um vínculo e um diálogo com os seus conteúdos conscientes e inconscientes. As reflexões propostas se fundamentam em Donald Winnicott e Antonino Ferro, complementados com atividades de pesquisadores nesta área de conhecimento.

Abstract This paper presents part of the studies developed in the module “Children’s drawings in the psychoanalytic clinic with children and adolescents”, promoted by the CPRS Childhood and Adolescence Studies Center. Drawing is one of the resources used by professionals working in the field that meets the demand announced by those seeking to understand and alleviate the suffering of patients who are experiencing childhood and adolescence. The purpose of this study is to reflect on drawings as a way of getting in touch with the internal world of these patients and perceiving the impulsive, libidinal and aggressive movements that establish a link and a dialog with their conscious and unconscious contents. The proposed reflections are based on Donald Winnicott, Françoise Dolto and Antonino Ferro, complemented by the activities of researchers in this area of knowledge.

Considerations about the sensibility of the poetic-analytical care: thing versus human in pandemic

Resumo Este artigo resgata o contexto do evento comemorativo dos 65 anos do Círculo Psicanalítico do Rio Grande do Sul (CPRS) em 2021, durante a pandemia da covid-19, bem como os eixos centrais da apresentação do autor nesse evento e alguns outros elementos teóricos que têm acompanhado seu pensamento na atualidade. Entre outras dimensões, a humanização e a sensibilidade do cuidado poético-analítico são enfatizadas.

Abstract This paper recounts the context of the commemorative event of 65 years of the Círculo Psicanalítico do Rio Grande do Sul (CPRS) in 2021 during the covid-19 pandemic, as well as the central axes of the author’s presentation at this event and some other theoretical elements that have accompanied his thinking today. Among other dimensions, the humanization and the sensibility of the poetic-analytical care are emphasized.

The timelessness of the unconscious among remains and crocodiles that still live

Resumo Este artigo propõe como recorte metapsicológico as metáforas arqueológicas sobre o aspecto atemporal do inconsciente. O problema sobre a irrepresentabilidade do elemento que sobrevive ao lado, que Freud analisou em O mal-estar na cultura e na Carta 52, de Freud a Fließ, e deu prosseguimento em A análise finita e infinita. O inconsciente é em absoluto atemporal, mas o que exatamente isso significa? Não existem os tempos no inconsciente, ou, até que ponto coexistem todos os instantes de tempo? Não por acaso, Freud insistiu em afirmar em muitos escritos, que algo se conserva - uma sobrevivência, mesmo que um trapo, uma cicatriz, um lampejo, um pedaço, um resto, uma ruína. Mas estará todo material sujeito a transformações e reescritas em épocas posteriores? Na experiência de uma análise, os crocodilos são os companheiros de viagem. Uma transformação é sempre incompleta: partes de uma organização anterior continua a existir ao lado da mais recente, e mecanismos antigos podem permanecer intocados pela análise. Sobrevivem os restos, o grão de Real que resiste.

Abstract This paper proposes, as mearchaeological approach, archeological metaphors about the timeless aspect of the unconscious. The problem that Freud analyzed in “Civilization and Its Discontents” and in “Letter 52 from Freud to Fließ” about the unrepresentability of the element that survived alongside, Freud demonstrated elucidation in “The Finite and Infinite Analysis”. The unconscious is absolutely timeless, but what exactly does that mean? Do times not exist in the unconscious, or to what extent do all instants of time coexist? Not by chance, Freud insisted on stating, in many writings, that something is preserved - a survival, even if it is a rag, a scar, a flash, a piece, a remainder, a ruin. But, will all material be subject to transformations and rewritings in later times? In the experience of an analysis, the crocodiles are our traveling companions. A transformation is always incomplete, parts of an earlier organization continue to exist alongside the more recent one, and old mechanisms may remain untouched by analysis. The remains survive, the grain of reality that resists.

Trapped in the net: effects of the virtual on the contemporary subjectivity of adolescents

Resumo A autora problematiza os efeitos danosos das redes sociais na constituição do sujeito adolescente. A psicanálise pretende soltar o adolescente desse imaginário funesto, acedendo ao simbólico e ao desejo.

Abstract The author discusses the harmful effects of social networks on the constitution of the adolescent subject. Psychoanalysis intends to free the teenager from this disastrous imaginary, reaching the symbolic and the desire.
