RODRIGUES, Júlia Loren dos Santos e SELAU, Bento. THE VULNERABLE ADOLESCENCE IN INSTITUTIONAL CARE PATHS. Psicol. clin. [online]. 2023, vol.35, n.2, pp.275-294. Epub 23-Ago-2024. ISSN 0103-5665. https://doi.org/10.33208/pc1980-5438v0035n02a03.
The aim of this study was to analyze the experience of adolescence, understanding the research participants in their subjective and identity dimensions and relating them to the social and political determinants that pervade adolescence. The study started by listening to life story narratives of adolescents living in institutional care units. The research was guided by qualitative research methodology and based on the assumptions of socio-historical and critical social psychology. For data analysis, the discursive textual analysis model was applied, which resulted in two categories: (1) vulnerable/afflicted and institutionalized adolescence; (2) adultcentric view of adolescence and the experience of autonomy in adolescence. From this study, it is understood that considering social determinants in the process of adolescence formation, such as living conditions and institutionalization pathways, is not an addition to the analysis, but rather a structuring element for its understanding.
