DINIZ, Clara Alves e AMPARO, Deise Matos do. Therapeutic consultations: a place for the family in the child and adolescent psychoanalytic clinic. Estilos clin. [online]. 2025, vol.30, n.2, pp.307-324. Epub 23-Jan-2026. ISSN 1415-7128. https://doi.org/10.11606/issn.1981-1624.v30i2p307-324.
The psychoanalytic clinic with children and adolescents presents a singularity due to the involvement of third parties in the analytical process, especially the family, which requires rethinking the framework to include them. This article investigates Winnicott’s model of therapeutic consultations as a device for listening and intervening with the family, considering its potential and limitations as a space capable of containing and transforming parental anxieties. A narrative literature review was conducted, beginning with a brief historical overview that contextualizes the emergence of this clinical practice, from which the case of Mrs. X is analyzed. This is followed by the presentation of Brazilian studies from the past decade that support the use of therapeutic consultations with families as a valuable resource in child and adolescent psychoanalytic practice.
