The expansion of teleworking raises relevant questions about its modality effects on workers. Scientific production in psychology was chosen as the objective of this review, to analyze the contributions of the area to the understanding of the teleworking phenomenon. For this, the search terms “teletrabalho”, “telecommuting”, “telework” and “home office” were used in the databases of the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (Lilacs), Psychology Electronic Journals (PEPsic) and APA PsycInfo, for entries in the last 10 years, in English or Portuguese. Fourteen articles were selected from the inclusion and exclusion criteria, compiled in electronic spreadsheets and later categorized. The results show the role of organizational support, the potential of the modality to promote workers’ well-being and challenges in family-work reconciliation. Beyond empirical results on teleworking, ways to access the phenomenon were identified, sometimes focusing on the characteristics of the work, sometimes on the specificities of the workers.
