ROCHA, Fabiana dos Santos; BARHAM, Elizabeth Joan e SANTIS, Ligia de. Work/Life Balance Self-Assessment Scale: Brazilian Adaptation and Evidence of Validity. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.3, pp.2119-2127. Epub 29-Nov-2024. ISSN 1984-6657. https://doi.org/10.5935/rpot/2022.3.22950.
The need to evaluate work-life balance to develop inclusive organizational policies, and the lack of a Brazilian instrument for this purpose led us to adapt the Work/Life Balance Self-Assessment scale (Study 1) and to examine evidence of validity (Study 2). Evidence based on the internal structure (N = 340) confirmed a three-dimensional structure, with good factor reliability (0.80 to 0.93). The analysis of evidence based on the relationship with theoretically related variables (job satisfaction and occupational stress) indicated correlations ranging in magnitude from .26 to .48 (N = 181). Thus, we conclude that the adapted version of this scale is suitable for use in Brazil. The use of this instrument can contribute to the advancement of research and well-founded organizational policies that benefit workers and organizations. In future studies, a more representative sample of the Brazilian population is needed to increase evidence of validity for this scale.
