This essay aims to characterize the demand for group supervision under the scope of the complementary course in psychoanalytic training in children’s and adolescents’ clinic at the Núcleo de Estudos de Psicanálise da Infância e Adolescência (Center for Psychoanalytical Studies of Childhood and Adolescence — NEPIA) of the Círculo Psicoanalítico do Rio Grande do Sul (Psychanalytical Circle of Rio Grande do Sul — CPRS), situating the history of supervision in psychoanalytic training and examining its effects on the training process. This reflection is based on clinical clippings provided by analysts or course candidates. From these fragments, we try to open up possibilities for interventions, analyzing some of the diagnostic hypotheses with theoretical foundations from Freud, Gutfreind, Rassial, Sigal, and Volich, among others.
