COLAO, Magda Maria. The termination of a psychoanalysis is not an app. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2023, n.60, pp.57-68. Epub 07-Fev-2025. ISSN 0100-3437. https://doi.org/10.5935/2175-3482.n60a06.
This work proposes a reflection of the termination of the psychoanalysis based on Freud's heritage (1937) Analysis Terminable or interminable, with contributions from Lacan amongst other psychoanalysts. We establish a relationship between the evolution of the individual and the history of the human civilization, now digital and cybernetic. The termination induces transformations to the individual. The termination of the psychoanalysis triggers a movement. The analysand learns how to lead their life, including its unexpected situations, contradictions and realities. They overcome conflicts, mazes and they detect the chaos giving meaning to their existence. An analysis must not extended beyond its need for too long. There are signals which indicate the treatment is over. Similarly as the human being absorbed in cyberculture is not an application, the process of ending the analysis is not a gadget. It breaches the dichotomy of being off/online. There are manifestations from the analysand with their life, environments, relations accepting they are the author of the spectacle of their acts in the infinite. An awakening elapse creating possibilities, comings and goings, approaches and separations in constant transformation of reality. This subject raises the being born and dying phenomenon, learning and forgetting.
