Abstract

TRAVASSOS, Maria do Rosário de Castro. Mental Health in the indigenous context, what can psychoanalysis do. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2023, n.60, pp.75-82.  Epub Feb 07, 2025. ISSN 0100-3437.  https://doi.org/10.5935/2175-3482.n60a08.

This work aims to discuss Brazilian public policies in the context of indigenous mental health and the ethical perspective of the psychoanalytic clinic in this context. The constant psychosocial problems involving this segment of the population indicate an increase in the number of cases of suicide, violence, chemical dependency, depression, among others, reported on official websites (Brasil, 2017a), data that calls into question health care and specificities mental by the ethnic-cultural plurality that singularizes them.

Keywords : Indigenous Mental Health; Psychoanalysis; Psychic suffering.
