Results of Desmurget’s research: the failure to build the capacity for literary reading and, consequently the first generation with an IQ lower than their parents. The written text is not just an alternative to auditory pathways, but a second language that has to be constructed. Written language is much richer than oral language, but it has to be constructed and programmed in childhood. But due to the excess of digital media in early childhood, instead of books, the hole image created by the predominance of the symbolic and which refers to the symbolic, having the gift of deepening subjectivity remains atrophied into a wall image, in which the imaginary predominates. Inhibiting the practice of reading through printed books prevents the development of neural networks that would have to be created in childhood, which becomes impossible later on.
