This article is written “Between sexuality and the Real: why psychoanalysis”. It starts from questions and problems for psychoanalysis: to what extent can we locate, even today, forms of resistance to psychoanalysis? Is it interesting to identify and present, in a brief journey through historical, metapsychological, ethical and clinical aspects, the “piece” that remains, from Freud’s time, to the current time. What “piece” of Real is this, in psychoanalysis, which never ceases to remain? To what extent is sexuality still discarded, diverted and avoided? e cause of psychoanalysis advanced with resistance, but is it exactly sexuality in its problematic and uncertain aspect, the “piece” of Real that resists, between Freud’s time and this time now? Freud insisted on the point that concessions to cowardice must be avoided, the argument that, first, one gives in to words, and, finally, one gives in to the thing itself. Why psychoanalysis?
